Generally:

• CD-ROM: 600MB or larger.
• DVD: 4GB if single layer, 7GB if dual layer.
• HD DVD: 10GB if single layer, 25GB if dual layer.
• Blu-ray: 10GB if single layer, 25GB if dual layer.
